Jeewels by Livia Chua
Jelly Roll by Suzanne McNiell, CZT
Jemz by Maragret Bremner

It´s a String Thing #28 (2014; 8,9 x 8,9 cm)
For my tile I used the tangles Jeewels, Jemz, Jessicup and Jetties and I really enjoyed it. I like String #014 very much. It reminds me of a swinging ribbon. Therefore I used Jessicup and Jeewels as swinging ribbons here.
Jemz and Jetties are so lovely tangles, too!
Again a wonderful challenge! Thank you, Adele!

The Dog´s Aim

This month the theme of Piarom´s Mix It Monthly (http://mix-it-monthly.blogspot.de)
is “We love our Pets”.
Of course we love our pets! But do they love us?
I think that our dog LISSY would answer “yes”. Eight years ago she chose us as her new family in the animal home.
Therefore J.R.  Ackerley´s quote “A dog has one aim in life... to bestow his heart” is so suitable.
Here is a portrait of Lissy …a black beauty … and her ears are so large ... really!

Das Thema im Februar von Piarom´s Mix It Monthly (http://mix-it-monthly.blogspot.de) lautet “We love our Pets”.

The Dog´s Aim (2014; 28 x 20 cm)

I have created the background with aquarelle sticks, watercolors and a little Gesso.
After that I made a pencil sketch of our completely black dog. For this I used a photo. It wasn´t easy!
I copied this sketch on a tracing paper with my printer and glued it with Mod Podge on the page. After drying I reworked the transferred copy with watercolours and colour pencils.
Otherwise I used ink pens, watercolour pens and colour pens.

Lissy

Thank you for reading this post and a nice week to everyone!

Splash of White Colour - Challenge #155

The Diva´s Weekly Challenge # 155: "A Little White Space"
This week´s challenge is to try leaving a big open white space in our piece.
Usually I always leave some white spaces. But for me it´s a challenge to fill the paper with tangles completely. Therefore I decided to draw a space looking like a big splash of white colour in the centre and fill the rest with my favorite tangles.
Thank you Laura for this challenge!

It´s a String Thing #27

This week Adele´s challenge is to make a patchwork of tangles. Therefore we had to use String #033 created by Esther Episzczek and eight tangle pattern that begin with the letter “E”:

Echo by Sue Clark, CZT
Efilys by Sandra Strait
Echoism by Zentangle®
Eke by Zentangle®
Emingle by Zentangle®
Ennies by Zentangle®
Eye-wa by Zentangle®
Equerre by Genevieve Crabe, CZT

Your can find these tangles and the String # 033 on http://tanglepatterns.com/. For more information please see here on Adele´s blog.

It´s a String Thing #27 (2014; 8,9 x 8,9 cm)
For my tile I used the tangles Efilys, Eke, Ennies (without bubbles) and Equerre.

First I had to familiarize myself with 6 new tangles. Currently I knew Echoism and Ennies only.At first sight I liked Efilys and Equerre very much. But Eke appeared not interesting for me at first. But after practice I realized that Eke is a lovely tangle.  Especially I like to use it as a small ribbon or border.
Therefore I like Adele´s Challenge very much. I learn new tangles which I wouldn´t use usually.
Adele, thank you very much, for your “It´s a String Thing” challenge!
