“I´m Smiling on the Inside” - Challenge # 151

The Diva´s Weekly Challenge # 151: Sting Theory: Möbius Syndrome Awareness Day

Möbius Syndrome Awareness Day is an event which is celebrated globally each year on January 24th- the birth date of Professor Paul Julius Möbius, the doctor who first diagnosed the Möbius Syndrome in 1888. The aim of Möbius Syndrome Awareness Day is to raise awareness about this rare condition and to educate others about it.
Möbius syndrome is a rare neurological disorder that is present at birth.  It primarily affects the 6th and 7th cranial nerves, leaving those with the condition unable to move their faces (they can’t smile, frown, suck, grimace or blink their eyes) and unable to move their eyes laterally.
For more information on Möbius Syndrome and Möbius Syndrome Awareness Day please visit http://www.moebiussyndrome.com/ and Möbius-Syndrom Deutschland e.V. (“Lachen mit dem Herzen”; German Website).

To raise awareness for this disorder is this week's Challenge.  I decided to use the Möbius Syndrome Foundation's logo for my work. The logo is so beautiful and I like it so much.

Thank you for reading this post.... and have a nice week!

  1. Charming.
I especially love how the Mooka "mama" curls through the logo and plays with the "baby".

  2. Great mobius and I love the Henna Drum and Mooka twisting too.

  3. Wow, such beautiful zentangle again. I keep saying the same thing, but I love your zentangle art, the flowers & hands on the right hand side are gorgeous and so is your shading. Greetings, Shirleyx

  4. Lonetta, I just love your whole Zia!!! It definitely speaks love!!! And I really like the new look of your blog!!! very Zen!!!! :0) Share Humanity

  5. Wahnsinnig schön, tolle Farben, UND für einen guten Zweck - Perfekt! GLG, Valerie

  6. wow,das ist einfach wahnsinnig schöööööön,tolle farben und muster, bin sehr beindruckt.

    GLG Jeannette

  7. What a beautiful pattern you have chosen (invented?) for the purple filler. I also very much like the carnation-like flowers. You really have made a very lovely design incorporating the simple template the Diva gave.

    1. Hi Sheila, thank you for the kind words!
The tangle pattern in the möbius-logo was designed by Margaret Bremner (CZT) and is named "Copada".
      Greetings, LonettA

  8. This is wonderful, has an underwater feel. Love the flow and movement.

  9. You've really made this moebius strip come to life. I love it - and I do like the idea of 'smiling on the inside'. Good one! Axxx

  10. I love how you wove the tangles around the symbol! Lovely color too.

    Alles Liebe, Beate

  12. Great ZIA. I agree with a previous comment that it has an underwater character. Maybe it is the beads and bubbles. Like the deep purple.

  13. I agree with all above, wonderful design, color and choosen tangles, and great explanation of the syndrome. Thanks for sharing!

  14. You did so very well with this logo. I totally love it!

  15. I love the way you have tangles wrapping around and through the logo x

  16. Ach wie schön, diese Blümchen sind einfach zauberhaft!

  17. F*A*B*E*L*H*A*F*T..
    auch das mit rot unten...

immer wieder bin ich über Deine Perfektin und Präzession erstaunt und es begeistert mich immer wieder auf's Neue!

    Schönes Wochenende!
    Sei lieb gegrüßt von

  18. Good.
This initiative will create more awareness about this syndrome and will motivate people to do something to help the sufferers.

  19. Very pretty and delicate tangle! It looks so happy and hopeful.
